Paul Blackmore - At Water's Edge
Interviewed for The Adventure Handbook.
Humans are 70% water. Here and now, at the onset of the Anthropocene, so too is the surface of Planet Earth. Coincidence? Probably. But it’s pause for thought.
Australian photojournalist Paul Blackmore did pause, for 11 years, to explore this and numerous other facets of humanity’s convoluted relationship with this most precious and essential molecule. Blackmore pursued his visual study across 14 countries and at the end of this Herculean effort he published the book At Water’s Edge.
"It was weird, before that I was in Osaka and they have those public wash houses and I was walking around in the nude with two Nikons. You know, it wasn’t working."
