Ché divides time between his work as a botanist-ecologist, postgraduate studies in ecology, and his photographic & research practice. His photographic work explores the natural environment and our place within it. He is interested in what landscapes carry; how they impress upon us and we impress upon them.

More recently his creative practice has been shaped by his time in the field working as a botanist & ecologist and reflects his own grappling with the dissonance between the striving for scientific exactitude and the subjectivity of working intimately in the field with people and place.

Ché presently works with Anangu Rangers as Coordinator of the Warru Project, a recovery program for the endangered Warru (Black-footed rock wallaby) on the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara Lands. As a botanist & ecologist Ché has worked with governments, research institutions, not-for-profits and as a consultant in the private sector, as well as having spent many years working in the field of environmental restoration. In his postgraduate research he works with NSW DPIE to investigate the effects its ecological thinning trial is having on avifauna in river red gum floodplain forest.

As a freelance photographer and writer Ché has worked with such clients as the South Australian Tourism Commission, Momondo, JUNKEE Media, The Adventure Handbook and AWOL.
